Over the years I have moved into several new homes. I have a standing rule I established in my first year of University - in any home, the first thing you set up and the last thing you tear down is the Stereo System. Well, that seems mighty appropriate, given that today we focus on the music...
In launching the new home for my musical and creative endeavors, we are including a blog – this blog. Here’s the vision for what you can expect:
Here’s why that makes sense…
The impetus for building NeilSturgeon.com was to provide a safe place to:
- Update my Old and New Friends on my upcoming music shows, videos, and recordings I am proud of (and occasionally, those bloopers I am extremely embarrassed about).
- Release new material such as new songs, new fully produced releases, or photos and videos from shows my friends may have missed.
- Establish a platform for my voice where I can opine on topics that fascinate me, bore my friends with nerdy prose, scare my friends with eclectic rants, and open the dialogue.
- Gather feedback I am going into a production phase soon for new studio work, and I would love to get feedback from people about individual songs, which songs are better, and other perspectives I can’t have on my own material. And into perpetuity, I will be asking for your input. They only way I can provide what you like is to know what you like. The only way I can truly piss you off is to know what you abhorrently dislike.
- And, to invite Curious Visitors to explore my music, to see if it works for them. I meet people at parties, work, and traveling, that look at my fancy hairdo, and think – wow, you are either an unkempt fool or a musician. This will help them decide for themselves which one I am.
My job should be to make it easy for you to learn about my creations.
Finding an artist you want to follow or learn more about should be easy. It is my job to provide you with an easy way to find me, hear me, communicate with me, and provide feedback (Note: I am only accepting positive feedback at this time) . Whether you like what you find or not, exploring it should not be a chore.
And finally, I intend to make this the canonical hub for information about Bleu Sturgeon, Neil Sturgeon as a Singer Songwriter, and any other endeavors you should know about. In other words, if you need to know the address of tonight’s show, just come here – if you can’t remember where I sell my Wall Art Long Exposures, come here – If you are going camping this weekend and want to play that hilarious Camping song by Bleu Sturgeon, come here – this site will point you to the solution. Navigating social channels has gotten too complicated with all the fragmented machinery.
Today we talk music – However, I intend to expand NeilSturgeon.com to include other creative endeavors. In time it will include Long Exposure Photography, Paintings, Fiction, and other creative endeavors.
A fun realization - I may be as excited about the blog as I am the music. There is so much to talk about and so little time.

I hope the music I have created over the years, and the music I deliver in our future together will somehow add value in the
soundtrack of your life. Obviously, it has meant a lot to me.
